The Portugal Invitational 2026 marks a new era for professional golf in Portugal. From July 31 to August 2, 2026, the Algarve hosts this prestigious tournament on the PGA TOUR Champions calendar, the first individual stroke play PGA TOUR Champions event held in Portugal.
The competition takes place at The Els Club Vilamoura, the first Els-designed facility in Europe and one of the region’s most elite golf venues, offering a challenging layout and stunning coastal scenery.
Featuring a field of 78 players, including PGA TOUR Champions and Legends Tour members, the Portugal Invitational brings together some of golf’s most celebrated figures in a world-class competitive format.
The event strengthens the Algarve and Vilamoura’s reputation as world-leading golf destinations, with convenient access from Faro Airport and a full range of premier courses, luxury accommodation, dining and leisure experiences. The tournament is part of a wider push by the PGA TOUR Champions to expand its calendar into Europe, bringing top-level senior golf to new audiences beyond the United States. Backed by a five-year commitment between the PGA TOUR Champions and Vilamoura, the tournament is confirmed to return in 2027, with exact dates yet to be announced.
