Formula 1 Returns to Portugal: Grande Prémio de Portugal 2027
The FORMULA 1 MSC CRUISES GRANDE PRÉMIO DE PORTUGAL 2027 brings the world championship back to the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, in Portimão, from 18 to 20 June 2027, the circuit’s first Formula 1 race weekend since 2021.
About the Race
Formula 1 has confirmed a two-year deal with the Portuguese government, Turismo de Portugal and promoter Parkalgar, bringing the championship to Portimão for 2027 and 2028 and replacing the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort on the calendar. The Algarve circuit hosted Formula 1 for the first time in 2020 and again in 2021, both during the pandemic-shortened seasons, and its dramatic elevation changes and blind crests, including the plunge into the final corner, quickly made it a favourite among drivers. Ticket sales for the 2027 race open on 21 September 2026 through the official Formula 1 ticket store.
Practical Information
The race weekend runs from 18 to 20 June 2027 at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, near Portimão. The nearest airport is Faro (FAO), around 65 km from the circuit, with direct flights from most major European cities.
