Founded in 1993 by four friends with a modest budget of about 800 euros, the history of music in Portugal would not be the same without the Paredes de Coura Festival. The 2026 edition drew around 115,000 people, and the festival’s 33rd edition is confirmed for 18 to 21 August 2027.
Throughout its 32 years of existence, the oldest and most charismatic Portuguese festival has made history in discovering new musical promises and presenting the most renowned names in music worldwide. With a careful and coherent lineup, always faithful to the alternative spirit that characterizes it, the Vodafone Paredes de Coura, which happens next to the fluvial beach of Taboão was already considered one of the 5 best music festivals in Europe by Rolling Stone magazine. Arcade Fire, Pixies, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Coldplay, and Morrisey are just a few of the names that have stepped onto the stage of this festival.
