D. Luís Bridge is a metal arch bridge between Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia cities. The double-deck bridge opened in 1886 and designed by the German architect Téophile Seyrig – Gustave Eiffel school. It is part of the Porto Historic District, a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and back then, it held the record for the longest iron arch in the world. The bridge arch measures 172m in length and 44.6 m in height. It has simply stunning views over the Douro River, the Port Wine Cellars in Gaia and over the beautiful Porto Downtown.
