Doc Lisbon Festival
Doclisboa announces the first retrospective of its 23rd edition, which will take place in October 2026, at the usual venues – Culturgest, Cinema São Jorge, Cinemateca Portuguesa, and Cinema Ideal.
A festival entirely dedicated to documentaries, this is the only competitive documentary event that will bring the best of contemporary national and international production. DocLisboa is the only Portuguese festival recognised by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences: its Best Short Film award pre-qualifies the winner for the Oscar for Best Documentary Short. First held in 2002, DocLisboa is also a member of Doc Alliance, a partnership of seven leading European documentary festivals that share a joint award and a platform for cross-border collaboration.
