Évora Aqueduct a Portuguese
Évora Aqueduct is one of the most impressive of the city, especially considering its size. It is a Portuguese Monument since 1910.
Designed by the same architect as Belém Tower, Francisco de Arruda, to bring clean water to the city.
Its construction started in 1532 and finished in 1537 after 18 miles. Some of the alterations throughout the centuries were the several fountains added along the passage in the historic center.
It is now possible to walk around about 5 miles along the aqueduct.
