Clérigos Tower

Clérigos Tower Oporto Tour

Clérigos Tower is one of most emblematic moments of Oporto, an ex-libris baroque style of the city. The Church of Clérigos is an incredible masterpiece built between 1732 and 1750. It was designed by Nicolau Nasoni, an Italian architect. Back then it was the tallest building in Portugal. The front of the church has an interesting and beautiful baroque architecture, with contours, domes, and spires. However,  more iconic than the church, is its bell tower.  This Tuscan-style bell tower extends upwards through 75 meters with a delicate elegance. Climb its 225-step spiral staircase and you’ll get one of the most beautiful panoramic views over all of Oporto. The tiled rooftops, the Douro river and the wine houses in Gaia. It is phenomenal.
